Question 1: How did you use your own unique ideas in your work?
Answer: With the background I will admit I had the help of a friend when creating the marbled look. But when it came to the tree I knew it had to be original. I took some green tissue paper similar to the torn pieces (the leaves) that are glued to the paper and I crinkled them up, put them around the extent of the branches and saturated them with water and left them overnight. The result was the green water (from the tissue paper) pushing all the dark background out to the edges of the green leaving a light green leafy look for leaves.
Question 2: Did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original?
Answer: Like I previously stated, some of my inspiration came from a friend. Mainly my ideas were inspired by the subject(s) of the project, the one I chose was "Darkness". I took this subject for a different swing, instead of concentrating on the dark (the background) I tried to put emphasis on the light (the tree). Overall, I think my last project in my Art II class turned out to be not too shabby (even if I do say so myself).
